Two murders unnerve small-town Pennsylvania in this cozy historical mystery
The 19th century is coming to a close, and Sheriff Tilghman is focused on his two biggest Finding a new deputy and convincing his true love, Lydia, to marry him.
But his problems are about to get more complicated.
The town’s usual tranquility is shaken to the core.
A stranger has been killed.
Tilghman recognizes the victim. Having recently witnessed the victim’s strained encounter with a new guy in town (Valentine Deibert), the sheriff begins his interrogation with him. Deibert denies knowing the victim, but Tilghman is unconvinced. He lacks a connection, until the victim's widow arrives in Arahpot.
Then another body is found.
