With her busy veterinary practice in the coastal Florida City of Rainbow Springs, the last thing Dr. Victoria Kensling is thinking about is murder. But when an intruder breaks into her clinic and is apparently mauled to death by one of her patients, Victoria is thrown headlong into a murder mystery that could result in the death sentence of a beloved Pitbull-Lab mix named Duke.


Victoria knows Duke is innocent.  But the damning evidence, combined with the prejudice against the dreaded P-word (Pitbull), have helped declare Duke “guilty until proven innocent” in the eyes of all but those who know him.  And time is running out.


But Victoria will not let Duke take the blame.  She certainly won’t let him lose his life for something he didn’t do.  Even if it means putting her own safety on the line…
