First Call

Pastor John Messmann is a 1982 graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, where he received his Master of Divinity Degree. He completed the Doctor of Ministry Program at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois, in Church Management. Pastor Messmann's parish experience has included serving churches in Illinois and Michigan, prior to serving as Senior Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fort Worth, Texas, since 1992. Pastor Messmann is married to Sharon, and they have three children Jennie, Stephen, and Paul. His passion is equipping God's people to follow Jesus in their everyday living. Over the last several years he has sent out to the people of St Paul Lutheran Church a Monday morning email that connects people amidst their daily demands and busy lives to their First Call. This book contains over four years of these devotional thoughts.
