The whole story is one big “miscommunication” disaster… but with barely even any communication at all! There is an absurd amount of stilted dialogue that didn’t make sense in the worst places. The interactions between the main characters are awkward and immature and I just didn’t feel any chemistry between them. There’s apparently been 10 years worth of pining on both ends after one interview and a couple moments together?? I didn’t buy it. I did like how there were articles, interviews, and blog posts throughout the story and seeing how they compared to what really happened and sort of showed an outside perspective of what was happening with the characters. Overall, this was a blind book from the library and not one I would have chosen or would recommend.
3.50 STARS 💖My whole experience of this book : This is annoying... This is a little bit better...Is annoying again... Towards the ending is so much better. I want to say that all the annoying parts were mostly at THEN parts of the book, idk but I was infuriated with her I felt like she acted like a teenager and then I did find that she was 26 years, like, I knew she had a crush on Gabe but she was kind of obsessed with him ( she said she was watching every night before going to sleep a picture of him shirtless... and she had for her wallpaper phone a picture of him ) I mean it's not that at 26 you are not supposed to have a celebrity crush but still It felt like she never had a boyfriend ever a ( she had ) and this was her first time spending much more time around a boy , she was drooling over him , it felt exaggerated, so for me the Then moments were so tiring. They spend just a weekend together and it wasn't even just them , it was with other persons too and then 10 years pass and somehow they are still not over... but i get it , i mean it very cute ngl , but i felt like they didn't spend THAT much of a time together so that they couldn't be over eachother even after 10 years . Moving forward the NOW chapters were so much better for me , I loved them , she acted more like an normal human and even though she still liked Gabe she was not that exageratly anymore , maybe it was supposed to be like that , that she changed now , she was more mature...but if she was maybe 19-20 years in THEN , I would get it... Anyway I liked their relationship in Now more then THEN , the story was much more beautiful and more sensible , I really Loved it . I am debating to read her 2 books about the other persons story from their life. I know it's about Gabe's sister Lauren and Katee which it's Chani best friend I think ? But yeah , the ending chapters saved the book for me so for that did give more stars than i actually wanted to, so there's that. NOW for my ending😂 , even though I say some things I didn't like in this book I still pretty much liked it , the couple was very cute and some parts were very good , it definitely didnt make me feel like I wasted my time . 🐶🎬🖊🩷
