I debated higher and lower but in the end I think I'm right. The book has a good draw with what its about, I love the story, the plot and the characters. However, the first 30%ish of the book was slow for me. I was interested but took a break to play sims when I would normally binge. Because the synopsis explains 3 characters and a god on a journey together, that's what I was waiting to happen and it took a while till that happened. After that it picked up.This book was queer-normative. It also had disability rep (which i wish I could see more of).I loved all the characters, they felt flushed out and well rounded. They gave witcher vibes too. There was a lot I was trying to piece together throughout the book and the plot twist at the end was one I wasn't anticapating but I had a hunch about another with one of the main characters.I enjoyed the pacing of the book. The world building left something to be desired though, it got confusing often and I was having to go back to re read and see if I could piece it together. Otherwise I did enjoy it.I get a little sad about short books but this didn't feeeel short.I'm excited for the next installment though. I can see future books becoming 5 stars with a bit of practice on the authors part and the plot.
