Hannah Starts School

Hannah Stewart has been nervous about starting school in her new town of Topeka, Kansas. She doesn't know many of the other girls, and the ones she's met haven't been very kind to her. Everyone tells her that she'll make new friends once school begins, but it sure doesn't feel true. Winnie Smith is the most popular girl in school, and the most unkind. She chooses to be mean to Hannah and Ruby right from the start, and she tells the other children not to make friends with them either. Hannah has some difficult decisions to make, and the hardest one of all is choosing to stand up for herself. No one deserves to be treated badly - everyone deserves respect, and Hannah learns that every soul is valuable. Reading Third/Fourth Grade
