توضیحات

SHE'S A SMALL-TOWN GIRL WITH BIG DREAMS.

Nine years ago, Neve McKay fled her small Southern town and disapproving family to seek a career in the big city. Now she's finally coming home - and hoping for a fresh start. But the relationship that shattered her world still haunts her. And even among her nearest and dearest, she doesn't feel safe.

CAN THIS BAD BOY BE THE ANSWER TO HER PRAYERS?

Ian Campbell is a pure Scottish muscle - as hard and handsome as they come. But when Neve walks into his bar, his heart melts . . . and he vows to have this gorgeous and somewhat vulnerable woman in his life - for better or for worse. What is Neve's tragic secret? And how can Neve expect Ian to protect her, when doing so could put his own life at risk? The only thing Ian knows for sure is that he will do whatever it takes to keep her out of harm's way - and in his loving arms.

I've been deliberating between 4 stars and 5 stars but I guess I will settle for 4.5.This is a great book with great characters, a great plot and even a twist at the end. However, I felt like there was a little something missing, which is why I can't give it 5 stars. First of all, I really liked Neve and the rest of the McKays. Their relationship was well developed and explained and I liked how they all realized none of them were entirely blameless for the big fallout. I also looved Neve's relationship with Ella Sue and Gideon. I felt that the way the characters responded to Neve's abuse was well done. As a side note, I really liked the fact that she had volunteered and donated money at the women's shelter. Ian was a good love interest, but for me wasn't a great one. However, there wasn't really anything I disliked about him, and I did really like his relationship with Brannon and Neve. Now, one thing I noticed was that there were some spelling mistakes. It wasn't the end of the world, but it did become slightly distracting while reading. The other thing, was that the author heavily introduced the other McKay siblings' stories. While I found the parts interesting, I also found that it partly took away from Neve's story. Further, I wished Hannah and Neve's friendship was more developed. She appeared in the story but it wasn't until more the end that their friendship was introduced. Lastly, the ending didn't wow me, but there was a twist which I didn't anticipate.Overall, I really liked this story and despite some few things here and there, it captured my interest and I'll be looking forward to reading about the remaining McKay siblings. (I'm particularly interested in Moira and Gideon's story).
