He's been trying to get Dori's attention for months. She's had bad experiences with the last few guys she dated, but he's not like that and wants to prove it.
Homer is so hot. She can hardly stand it, and yet she continues to shy away. Dori knows if he keeps trying, she's going to give in so she's been staying away from him as much as she can.
