Second time reading this book and it's still one of my favorite book series from this author.

No podía bajarlo.

I haven't read this series since high school. Being 28 now, this series hits a bit different.Don't get me wrong. I still love the series and will forever love the tattoo I have for it but I can't believe I never really thought about how Nora jumped to so many conclusions with little to no evidence. And this same problem of hers continues to the next book when she and Patch start having issues caused by things neither of them can control. And Nora's iron pills. I'm not as anemic as she appears to be but I really have to wonder if that is how it is. I do get the dizzy spells and the darkening around the edges of my vision but her iron pills seem to activate really quickly. Also they become very unimportant after this book. They are only a plot device in this book and no other. My headcannon is that after the events of Hush Hush, because of what Patch did, her other half became stronger and kind of cured her anemia? Or at least made it not as severe? I don't know. For the first time, I read this book as an audio book and I think this is the oldest book I've read as an audio book. Which is kind of shocking. But I don't think the age is what caused the issues I had with the book. The narration was very ... monotone. Don't get me wrong, I liked the narrator's voice. But she didn't really adjust her voice for anyone, just giving different attitude's depending on who was speaking. And then the one accented character [Rixon] which only made him sound odd compared to everyone else. Like she actually tried with Rixon [minus the tone change] but everyone else was just ... meh. But I'll continue listening to it this way as it is the easiest way to get through the books on my current work schedule. Otherwise, I would be reading these books so much slower, taking nearly a month to finish one. As bad as it sounds, I don't know if I would be able to read this book today without the audio book. I've ben reading so few YA books lately and the ones I have are ones that have much more interesting stories and characters or are just more recently read for the first time.Hush Hush comes off as feeling like it was written by a teenager which actually works for it since it is narrated by a teenager.A part of me is not looking forward to the next book because I know where this is going. I already know why Patch can't tell Nora he loves her, even though he does; he can't tell her why he is suddenly hanging out with Marcie [though he does admit to it within her dream, the only place they can talk without anyone spying on them]; the identity of the one who killed Nora's father [or who she believes to be her father but that is a whole other can of worms that I am really not looking forward to], and I know what will be happening at the end of this book. The ones who control Patch just get in the way so damn much, essentially forcing them back to square one, and I hate it. It's just more pain for Patch who just wants to enjoy life with Nora. All I can do is look forward to the ending of Finale and be happy that they will get their HEA. It will just take a while getting through all the angst and drama of a teenage relationship.

I didnt think it was too bad. I did get Twilight vibes but the characters quite a bit different. Intriguing so far, I'll still give the rest of the series a chance.

In the first book of the Hush Hush series, we met Nora, a girl who lives with her mother and had a normal life, until everything turned upside down. I love books that are themed on angels, whitewashed angels and demons. This was always one of my favourite themes, long before fae, witches and vampires. So I couldn't read this series. It was a pretty fluid read, I remember finishing this book in two days or less, and I enjoyed it. The protagonist is kinda cool and Patch is just wonderful, you can't help but fall in love with him. The story is simple, but in the end, there is a plot that I found interesting. Not to mention the story vibe (sets, weather, etc.) reminded me a lot of the Fallen series, which I love so that already got my attention. I recommend this book and others to come, especially if you're starting in the literary world, have a literary hangover, or simply want to read a light series of urban romance and fantasy.

Hush hush does not hold back only two chapters in and there is steam. The meeting between nora and patch is more logical and reasonable. I love the atmosphere it brings like orange october wind with a hint of forbidding. The more I read the more I'm just as confused as nora. This is great So I just finished and I loved it another 3 day finish some parts irked me but this is what I loved Patch he was like edward meets Dally from the outsiders mixed into one I love the steam and how nora does not atomatically give in to it love it!
