gostei muito do livro, achei que o plot deixou a desejar, por mais que eu não esperasse que o unsub fosse o Webber, não me surpreendeu como o plot do primeiro livro que me deixou de queixo caído, mas uma coisa que estou esperando desde o primeiro livro é migalhas da Cassie e do Dean, que felizmente aconteceu nesse livro e me deixou muito feliz e com certeza vou ler o terceiro livro da saga
🎯4 stars🎯EDIT: 3.25 stars. (Reason: I don't think any book should be 4 star if it put me a reading slump.)I prefer the first book, and this is probably the weakest book in the series. I especially didn't really care for any murders related to Dean's father, and the plot twist wasn't as shocking as the first, third or fourth book, because it felt unnatural.🫰The process of investigating the murder.👍Good writing, pacing and prose. 👎A bit repetitive at times, with the same issues and false leads.👎The plot twist felt a bit forced.👎Resolution felt underwhelming -- they defeated the UNSUB quite easily. By that, I mean Cassie didn't do anything to defeat them other than survive.👎The start was slow. Incredibly slow. Put me in a reading slump for 9 days, and when I came back to it, I was still bored. Past the first 100 pages is when it actually starts to get interesting.
Apesar de ter gostado, não é um livro que te prende muito. Mas gostei da história. Pretendo continuar logo com o terceiro livro.
Ahhhhh.... I loved that ending . Dean n Cassie... Finally. And it was irritating that the Naturals were solving the cases basically, yet still they were being reprimanded for getting involved. Finally they will be able to be part of the cases as they should.
4.5 STARSAAAAH this book had everything, didn't get bored at all, kept me on my toes, and made me doubt myself. A lot. I think I have trust issues now. And ughhhh I seriously love her writing DEAN AND CASSIEEELove all the incredible characters, can't wait to learn more about them.
JLB is too good at writing believable teenagers. Just like the first book, I loved the investigation part of the story, hated that it was YA.I think this might be where we part ways.
Omg !!! Okay beginning seems less catching than the previous one bit the rest of the story is just as much of a masterpiece as the previous one
5 starsI have so many thoughts.FIRST OF ALL IM CALLING THIS A WIN BC I KINDA PREDICTED SOME THINGS!!I suspected the guard when they said it was connected to Daniel just bc i already didnt like him from the first interaction. I also suspected the other 2 killers because those were set up in an obvious way. we were supposed to suspect them.DEAN AND CASSIE :,) I love them so much and im glad we're going in the direction for them to end up together, but also I feel bad for Michael:( usually its easier in love triangles because the first love interest does somrthing that makes me hate him, but I love Michael too, so its rough. I do think dean and cassie are better as a couple, but I love her relationship eith Michael too and I feel so awful he had to sit there and watch them KNOWING she was gonna choose dean based on their emotions :,). I am gonna say im kinda rooting for Michael and Lia now. like I knoe they used to be off and on but like... I wanna see it yknow?IF STERLING AND BRIGGS ARENT TOGETHER AGAIN BY THE END OF THE SERIES ISTG. I loveeeed the little scenes with them where you could TELL they still loved and cared about each other. I also LOVED how cassie and Sterling started to bond by the end of the book. like I knoe they almost died together so ofc they did but its nice to see cassie finally have another person in her life like locke was... yknow... before locke outed herself as a serial killer but yknow details details. I hope they get closer as the series progresses because cassie definitely needs an adult she can lean on.im also hoping for more sloane in the next books because I LOVE her and she hasn't gotten a lot of... page time... or.. idk what to call it. if this was a show id say screen time. so. do with that what you will. its 2 in the morning when im typing this cut me some slack.ANYWAYS this might be my fave series. ngl. like rn its shatter me. but... this might top shatter me for me. like im so invested.

4.25⭐️I enjoyed this book more than the 1st one. Again there were plenty of twists and turns you never see coming. I found it captivating and engaging from start to finish! can’t wait to read the next one!

4.4 ~ 4 This was very, very good, with one exception, the love triangle. The mystery, on the other hand, was soooo good. I loved it.
