O maior mérito do livro está em tornar acessível uma discussão importante sobre violência doméstica. A leitura é fluida, os capítulos passam rapidamente e a autora sabe criar envolvimento emocional. Ainda assim, em alguns momentos a narrativa simplifica conflitos complexos e aposta mais na intensidade dramática do que na profundidade psicológica. Funciona muito bem como porta de entrada para novos leitores, mas dificilmente oferece as camadas encontradas em romances mais ambiciosos. É emocionante, embora nem sempre sofisticado.
It's an okayish book. It's not necessarily bad but it's not necessarily to my taste, the first half seemed good to me but after that it didn't appeal to me that much

currently bawling my eyes out8/10/2025 edit: literally what was I on reading this
I really love books that make me FEEL and, man, did I feel with this book! Anger. Sadness. Real tears fell from my eyes. It also made me feel a little toxic/crazy for finding myself wanting to justify some of the behaviors that take place in this story. But I think that is the point. It opens your eyes to what it may feel like to be on the inside of a situation that we can easily find ourselves judging from the outside. This book was raw and powerful. Though I didn’t dislike her by any means, Lily (the main character and only POV) was my least favorite character. I don’t feel like her character had much personality because so much of her POV was just focused on the relationship with Ryle. My favorite parts of her were the journal entries of teenage Lily. I’m excited to delve more into her and Atlas in the next book and am hoping to see more of her adult personality come through with chapters in his POV.
I liked these books because they touched on difficult subjects and portrayed them really well.
I think this is one of those books that leave a mark on your soul. I started this book after reading Ugly Love and believe me when I say it was hard to get through the first chapters because I was still in love with Miles and Tate. But then when reading on, this was an completely different story. I won’t say this is a love story. Yes maybe the love story of Lily and Atlas but the shit she went through during the time with Ryle. I became so mad, I think this is a good book also to spread awareness for abusive relationships but also maybe give woman and man the strength to leave that relationship.
Mi sento in dovere di scrivere qualcosa di questo libro. Non leggetelo se cercate qualcosa di leggero, non leggetelo se cercate qualcosa di divertente. Ma almeno una volta nella vita va letto (leggete ASSOLUTAMENTE prima i TW). È stato il mio primo libro di Coleen Hoover e come scrive mi piace molto. Molto semplice e come spiegava i tempi, mi è piaciuto ed è stata molto chiara. Va letto perché fa capire molte cose, che se non vivi in prima persona, sono difficili anche da immaginare e facilmente reputabili banali e stupide scuse. Non è il mio libro preferito, solo perché non è da paragonare a nessun altro libro, va solo letto e capire quello che ti vuole far capire. Non ha pagine di troppo, finisce tutto come è giusto che finisca, ti lascia con il cuore vuoto ma pieno di mille emozioni. Questo è quello che penso a fresco, finito meno di un'ora fa, mentre penso a cosa iniziare adesso anche se continuo a pensare a questo. Ho ancora lo stomaco chiuso per tutto quello che ho letto ma ne vale la pena, soprattutto se può aiutare le persone in quelle situazioni.Zitto e nuota, nuota e nuota
I managed to not cry until the note from the author.I loved this book. The support from Atlas, Alyssa, and Marshall for Lily was amazing.Based on the topics of the book I understand Ryles character arc and definitely thought that this topic was portrayed in a real and true way.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ || 5I don't know where I would to start, this book really destroyed me in the end of it, but in my opinion things were getting so fast between Ryle and Lily, I mean they were so quick about each other from the beginning... it doesn't make sense to me at all, they fall to each other really fast and suddenly They've become attached to each other and obsessed with each other in just a less than a year, that was weird to me to accept it, but the author showed us how Lily struggled with her feelings it was somthing magnificent and amazing so bad, and how she chose the right decision even though it hurts sooo bad but to was for everyones good, I really wished to read more about Lily and Atlas they were my cherry on top in the whole book, I was really upset with Ryle for long but I couldn't handle the pain he was feeling in the very end....
Excellent read. I read the book before watching the film and I’m so glad I did.
