Jordan Wilde - The Devil's Hoof Prints

Blackbeard the pirate was so evil he killed some of his crew now and then to remind them who he was. Shot and stabbed twenty-five times, his body swam three times around his ship after the British cut off his head. But Blackbeard took to his watery grave a secret - where he had buried his treasure - saying, the night before he died, "Nobody but the devil and I knows where it is, and the longest liver shall have all!"
Fourteen-year-old art detective, Jordan Wilde knows. That's why the Brethren, an elite pirate gang, want what's in Jordan's head - or Jordan dead. Following clues, the teenager races from New York to North Carolina where Blackbeard once lived, hunting for the long dead pirate's treasure. Soon hunter becomes hunted, and Jordan finds himself surrounded by danger, treachery, murder and a mysterious head flame - with no way out.
