Dr. Ralph Prost, his cohort and genetic engineer and medical physician girlfriend Christine Rand, his teenage daughter Janet and their long time friend and guide Tangu have been searching for the legendary Cito, an unidentified cave dwelling species capable of killing humans whose existence has never been documented.
After local villagers in the Congo report sightings and an eyewitness report of a young girl taken by the creatures close to the village, they decide to investigate for themselves.
It will be the last thing some of them ever do.
