توضیحات

In a future where humanity has established colonies across the solar system, tensions simmer between Earth, Mars, and the various factions of the Asteroid Belt. Power struggles and political intrigue shape the lives of those living in this complex society, where the search for resources often leads to conflict. Against this backdrop, a mysterious event unravels, setting off a cascade of chaos that threatens to engulf the entire system. As the fates of individuals become entwined with larger forces, the struggle for survival becomes a race against time.

Amidst the high-stakes environment, two characters find themselves on a collision course. One is a hardened detective navigating the dark underbelly of interplanetary politics, while the other is a ship's crew member who uncovers secrets best left buried. Their paths converge, propelling them into a thrilling adventure filled with danger, betrayal, and the discovery of what lies beyond the known universe. As they endeavor to uncover the truth, they must confront not only external threats but also their own inner demons.

I am a bit conflicted about this book. On the one hand, it has fascinating ideas (such as “Belters” and the spinning gravity of Ceres), but on the other, I feel like the execution is a bit rough sometimes. For example, I found it very difficult to connect with any of the characters, so I wasn’t too concerned about any of their fates. All in all, it’s a solid 4-star book, which isn’t bad as it’s the first in a 9-book series. I will continue with the series with the hopes that character work is a bit more polished in future books
