To live without purpose, for example, is to drift with the current.

To live without hope of constant improvement is a barren existence indeed.

To live without faith is to encase oneself in a prison which shuts out the only light which can pierce the uncertainty of tomorrow and make today worth all of our efforts.

But to live without God is to erase all meaning from our existence.

In God we find the purpose, faith and hope which give our daily lives a depth of joy and satisfaction that can be obtained in other way.

At a vantage point that few ever attain, President David O. McKay has acquired a perspective which has turned hope into faith, and faith into such reality that God, through his Holy Spirit, is a daily companion to him.
