Thomas awakens in a dark, moving elevator, with no clear memories of who he is or how he got there. As the elevator comes to a stop, he finds himself in a mysterious and sprawling expanse known as the Glade, surrounded by other boys who are equally bewildered and struggling to survive. Each day presents new challenges, as they attempt to navigate the towering maze that encircles their sanctuary, filled with mechanical creatures and hidden dangers.

With a sense of urgency, Thomas grapples with his fragmented memories and a growing determination to escape this unforgiving world. The other boys have established their own code of conduct and survival tactics, but they soon realize that Thomas might hold the key to unlocking the secrets of the maze.
