When a disgruntled chemist unleashes a biological agent, more than 99% of the human population is transformed into deadheads. Mindless zombies that roam alone or in packs under the guidance of ringers, they eat whatever meat they come across be it living or dead.

Scarlett Castrilli is one of the handfuls of survivors. Sheltering in a farm, for five months they have eluded discovery by solo deadheads or ringers wanting fresh meat for their packs. But when their location is inadvertently passed on to the zombies, she has to think fast. Do they flee and take their chances somewhere else? Or stay and defend their new home?
