I just finished the book like 10 minutes so don't expect a proper analysis lol😔This is the very first Chinua Achebe book I have read and I hate to admit it but I only picked this up because it was required reading for a class I'm taking. That said however, I enjoyed it. Seeing Okonkwo and following his journey throughout the book as he continously refuses to accept change was fascinating. And I could honestly write essay upon essay to talk about the potrayal of masculinity and femininity , and colonialism and Christianity in this book ( I will probably have to do that regardless). Overall very important book in my opinion and one that I think one should at the very least, try reading. The only criticism I have is the writing. At times it felt repetitive and like I was being told and not being shown. Anyway, loved the book and the discussions and fights this started in my class were top tier lmaoo
Every time I reread and teach this book, I’m reminded of the power of Achebe’s language and story.
