Rome Infernum

Rome’s military has been defeated in Teutoburg Forest. Three legions were sent to quell the Germanic tribes and not a single soul returned from the campaign. Instead, the head of Varus is sent back to the capital in a box. More disturbing than the disappearance of so many Roman soldiers is the sight of the head itself, jaws still moving and snapping.

The Senate, unable to agree on the fate of the three legions, see no choice but to send Vindicta to Teutoburg. Created in secrecy to fight the enemies that no other army can, Vindicta have a long history of waging war against the supernatural, the mythical and the monstrous. Yet when they reach Teutoburg they encounter a force unique in its brutality and horrifying nature.

It falls to Vindicta to save Rome from this new threat. Heavy decisions and impossible odds lay before them, but Vindicta is nothing if not resolute in their duty. Can they make it back to the capital in time to raise the alarm before their new enemy grows in number? And will they ever return to their own home, Montis Umbra, if Rome comes first yet again?
