When summer rolls around, it’s not just about sun-filled days and ice cream cones for the family in this heartfelt tale. A long-awaited trip to their family's lakeside cottage turns into a bittersweet journey as they navigate through old memories and face hard truths. Amidst laughter and tears, they learn just how precious their time together can be, but not without some bumps along the way.

As the protagonist grapples with both the joys and pains of family ties, friendship blossoms and rekindles in unexpected ways. This summer is a chance for growth, self-discovery, and grasping the moments that truly matter. As secrets unfold, the bonds between characters deepen, revealing the layers of love, loss, and the beauty of second chances.

Through light-hearted moments and poignant reflections, readers are invited into a world of nostalgia and warmth. It’s a story about embracing life's messiness, celebrating connections, and navigating the complexities of change during a summer that could shape their lives forever.

I really shouldn't have read this book now. It was beautiful and I couldn't handle it.It portrayed how it feels having a family member close to you slowly dying of cancer, and you having no power over it.I could understand how the character felt at like, all times. It really was to the pointThough I really shouldn't have read it now, especially having lost family by the same thing and close.I didn't know this theme was in the book, there should have been a disclaimer.Future me, please read this book again when you're in the right headspace.Oh, you bet I cried. It was beautiful of course I cried.
