Sex and Violet

It was last Thursday when Violet decided to stop taking her medication. They had cut her hours at the library so cash was short. It was either that or go hungry. It seemed like a rational choice at the time. She had been doing great for a little over two years now.

Soon after she went to the grocery store and filled her cart with nonessentials-an economy size box of condoms, a stack of porno magazines. Her boyfriend is understandably irritated. He knew what was happening. Violet was falling into one of her manic hypersexual episodes. He leaves her right away, claiming he won’t be with her unless she’s heavily medicated. Last time she cheated on him, he vowed never again. As far as he was concerned it was over.

In the rapidly shrinking logical part of her brain, Violet knew she should call her doctor right away. Instead Violet feels she had no choice but to meet men and women from the internet to get her needs fulfilled.
