Sliding into Hell

A young star speedway rider hovers between life and death...Eventually he recovers, only to find himself confined to a wheelchair. His life becomes fiercely driven by two emotions. On the one hand he will do anything for the new-found love of his life. On the other, he will do absolutely anything to avenge those he blames for confining him to a wheelchair...This fast-moving story takes us into the worlds of high finance, dark revenge and intriguing twists, set against a speedway background. Speedway fans will enjoy Berry's subtle commentary on the decline of the motorcycle sport in the 80s. Non speedway-minded readers will get a glimpse of the intrigues behind the romance of the sport, without feeling lost in technical jargon. Despite its speedway flavour, "Sliding Into Hell" is all about the paradox of life. At the end of the day, you win some and you lose some. Life is like that...
