Spells & Incantations

Accused of murder by magic of my only sister, I’m immediately carted off to Miss Eyre’s School for Wayward Witches. This is not a place for me, Veronica Steele; redheaded witch savant who excels at most things and is top of her class. Few understand my knack for quirky spells, but that didn’t stop them from dumping me here. This decrepit prison… err, I mean school… is crawling with supernatural derelicts, backstabbing fiends, and a myriad of dark corners where anyone, or anything, can snatch you up for dinner.

The professors and wardens are clueless and all eyes are on me when people start to get hurt in malicious, magical mishaps. Secrets and hauntings intensify but no one wants to investigate a thing. I’m not even sure some of the students are real, especially one dark-haired outcast named Ferran who seems to know more than he lets on and appears and disappears without warning. He’s irritatingly aloof, yet his eyes convey more than the words he speaks which send shivers down my spine.

Maybe this place is going to end me.

But I’m not going down without fight.

I need to find a way to get out of here before somebody else gets hurt.

Or worse.
