Stitches & Snake Oil: A Cozy Fantasy

Prudence, the town seamstress, lives a quiet life defined by early mornings with her young son, Bryant, and her shop door opening late at the ninth bell. An emigrant from the conservative community of Holderdown, she is cautious of North Pointe Common Towne’s vibrant magic and keeps her own gifts tightly restrained, crafting only the most plain and utilitarian garments.

But when a charismatic "snake oil" salesman arrives, hawking fraudulent "destiny potions" from his wagon just inside the road gates, Prudence's carefully constructed world threatens to unravel. The salesman is a ghost from her past, a figure of unwanted marriage who embodies the judgmental conservatism she sought to escape.

As the town’s communal magic seems to thin around her, Prudence is consumed by a fear that this fraud is destined to fill an open spot in the sacred Icosagon, poisoning the heart of their home. To defend her community and her new life, Prudence must finally confront her own internalized fears and unleash the extraordinary power of her the ability to make clothes that don't just fit the person, but fit their destiny.

Stitches & Snake Oil is a heartfelt story about choosing self-acceptance over self-restriction, proving that the brightest path forward is paved not with plain duty, but with courageous expression.
