The Complete Collection
On a small blue planet, far out in space, live the Clangers — a family of pink, mouse-like creatures who communicate through gentle musical whistles. Their world is curious, inventive, and quietly joyful, filled with strange objects, unexpected visitors, and the soft rhythms of everyday life.
The Clanger family consists of the inventive Major Clanger, always busy building curious contraptions; the caring and practical Mother Clanger, who keeps the household running with calm good sense; Small Clanger, whose adventurous spirit often leads him into new discoveries; and Tiny Clanger, the youngest, whose generosity and kindness shape many of the stories that unfold on the planet.
The Clangers share their world with a memorable cast of friends and neighbours. These include the Soup Dragon and her Baby Dragon, who live deep underground and provide the Clangers with their much-loved green soup; the Iron Chicken and her chick; the Froglets; and the mysterious Hoots who visit from a distant planet above. Across these stories, the Clangers investigate fallen debris from space, build remarkable machines from unlikely materials, and learn how curiosity, cooperation, and politeness can solve even the most unusual problems.
Originally created by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin for Smallfilms, and accompanied by the distinctive music of Vernon Elliott, Clangers remains a timeless example of thoughtful children's storytelling. This complete audiobook collection brings together all 26 original episodes, lovingly presented for audio listening, preserving the warmth, humour, and imagination that have delighted generations.
