The Funambulist

The Funambulist is a story of adventure, hope and friendship, for children aged 8 - 13. Annie McAllen’s only escape from her miserable life at home is tightrope walking, funambulism. When she’s up there on a tightrope, all her problems seem to disappear. So when she is invited to join the Berstone Travelling Show, she jumps at the chance. Life is perfect, until a daring stunt goes horribly wrong, and Annie falls head-first into a river. She’s knocked unconscious and drifts downstream, away from her family, and into the world of a travelling gypsy community. Can Annie get back to the Show before she loses them forever?
