As the storm intensifies, it becomes clear that not everyone is who they seem. Shadows lurk in the corners, and whispers fill the air, hinting at hidden pasts and unresolved conflicts. The atmosphere thickens with suspense as the characters grapple with their fears, and the thin veneer of civility begins to crack under pressure.
In this claustrophobic environment, alliances shift, and trust becomes a precious commodity. Each character brings their own burdens and mysteries to the table, leading to a gripping exploration of guilt, loyalty, and betrayal. The threat of the storm outside mirrors the growing unease among the inhabitants, heightening the stakes as they confront what lies within.
As tensions mount and the line between friend and foe becomes blurred, the farmhouse transforms into a character of its own, holding its breath under the weight of the gathering storm. Every moment is fraught with danger, and the question lingers: when the mist finally clears, what will be left behind?

Multiple storylines converge in really interesting ways, and the resolution was immensely satisfying. Yeah, I'm aware of how infuriatingly vague that is, but it's crime fiction, people! Even a list of characters can spoil the plot! I really enjoy Ari Thor as a character, even if I don't think I'd like him as a person - lucky for me, he's fictional. I was pleased to see Isrun back, and I loved her arc and subsequent character development. I can't wait to move on to the next book - I'm firmly on the Icelandic Noir train, thanks to Jonasson. Choo choo!**also, I listened to the audiobook and Leighton Pugh is as wonderful as he was in the last book**
