The Night Raid

In the midst of World War II, Nottingham serves as the backdrop for an evocative tale where history and artistry intertwine. At the heart of the story is Dame Laura Knight, a talented war artist, who embarks on a poignant journey back to her roots. As she picks up her paintbrush in a city marked by both nostalgia and conflict, she confronts the haunting echoes of her past while capturing the brave spirit of a community in turmoil.

Clare Harvey masterfully weaves a narrative that not only delves into Laura's artistic vision but also explores the lives of those around her. The characters are richly drawn, each with their own battles to fight amid the chaos of war. As Laura navigates her feelings of home and belonging, readers will be captivated by how art can both document and heal in times of upheaval.
