Mary Lennox, a spoiled, ill-tempered, and unhealthy child, comes to live with her reclusive uncle in Misselthwaite Manor on England’s Yorkshire moors after the death of her parents. There she meets a hearty housekeeper and her spirited brother, a dour gardener, a cheerful robin, and her wilful, hysterical, and sickly cousin, Master Colin, whose wails she hears echoing through the house at night.
With the help of the robin, Mary finds the door to a secret garden, neglected and hidden for years. When she decides to restore the garden in secret, the story becomes a charming journey into the places of the heart, where faith restores health, flowers refresh the spirit, and the magic of the garden, coming to life anew, brings health to Colin and happiness to Mary.

مشاهده همهOne of my favourite classical children's books. I grew up watching the 1993 film with Maggie Smith and read the book much later. I have read it at least twice. It is definitely one of those books I will enjoy coming back to later on.
This is definitely a classic. There are a lot of words I didn't understand but I am so glad. I thought of the world the edition where they have the dictionary in the back for a lot of those words and phrases that might not be so common. The book itself was very good and well-written but for some reason I just couldn't really get into it. I just don't think this book was overall something that I would really only read. This is a book I definitely like if you gave it to me out of the school so I'm about to read it for that reasoning. That reason alone like I did not really like this and it's really upsetting cuz I really wanted to enjoy this book but I just couldn't get into it unfortunately.
