The Young King

In a pitiless world of swords and sorcery, only the most cunning and ruthless may hope to survive.

The Young King, desperately jealous of his father's fame, and influenced by foreign advisors, purges the Nemean army of its most experienced officers, replacing them with a younger generation less experienced in war, including two young friends, Artemo and Melas, who will play key roles in the battle to come. His thirst to match the glories of his father leads him to the brink of disaster against an alliance of free cities determined to retain their autonomy.

The Young King is best read as a direct sequel to Macae as part of a 'mini-trilogy' in the sequence, together with the forthcoming Darkling of the Moon.
