Three Men in a Boat: A Hilarious British Comedy of Friendship, Travel, and Mishap

What happens when three friends, a dog, and a boat set off on a "peaceful" holiday? Absolute chaos—and endless laughter.

First published in 1889, Three Men in a Boat follows the misadventures of three overworked Londoners—J., George, and Harris—who decide that a trip up the River Thames will be the perfect cure for their ailments. Along with their fox terrier Montmorency, they set out expecting relaxation, but find themselves constantly battling bad weather, mishaps, and their own incompetence.

Blending witty observations, laugh-out-loud moments, and vivid descriptions of Victorian England, Jerome K. Jerome created one of the most beloved comedic travelogues of all time. Its timeless humor and lighthearted storytelling have charmed readers for over a century.

"One of the funniest books ever written."
– The Guardian

"Jerome's humor sparkles as brightly today as it did in the 19th century."
