When British policeman Lucas Challoner takes a vacation trip to New York he hardly expected to become mixed up with Avril, a young lady with a very fine set of teeth, or with Dave, a vampire who loves trains but hates the sight of blood. Gradually Lucas has his eyes opened to a whole other secret world where vampires hide in plain sight within human society having long ago conquered their predatory instincts. But now a charismatic new vampire leader is seeking to overturn the status quo, using his people's natural ability to cure all injuries and disease as a bargaining chip to negotiate an open acceptance into human society. However vested human interests will stop at nothing, not even murder, to prevent this from happening. And soon Lucas will be fighting for his life alongside his two new vampire friends as the actions wings through New York, Vermont and West Virginia before reaching a climax across the Atlantic in the wilds of North Wales.
