"Transfusion Medicine" summarizes how blood and blood products are collected, prepared for transfusion, and used in the clinical setting. All blood products are covered; however emphasis is placed on the use of certain products such as platelets and coagulation factors. Particular attention is also given to transfusion problems in special clinical settings, including massive transfusion, cardiopulmonary surgery, paediatric haemotherapy and transplantation.
