They call him the Condor of Death.Ray Cruz, a young undercover DEA agent, has spent months biding his time in a maximum-security prison, growing closer to a mysterious drug kingpin known only as Carlo. And when the time comes for their DEA-orchestrated escape, all of his training is put to the test as he stumbles into the secretive underground world of the Mexican cartel.
Thrust into a dangerous criminal and political game and surrounded by a web of mysteries, Ray must harness all of his wits if he wants to unravel the murky truth of the cartel headed by Carlo’s cousin, an enigmatic leader called the Condor– and stay alive in the process. He soon realizes that their power is far greater than he ever imagined, their talons reaching into the highest echelons of power in both Mexico and the United States.
As Ray grows closer to the truth, he must come to terms with the often-blurred lines of morality that shroud the cartel’s daily business – and make sense of the unsettling future the Condor has planned for themselves... and for Mexico.
A tale of evil arising from the best of intentions, Until Philosophers Become Kings, explores the blurred lines of morality and the darkest aspects of cartel life. No one knows what they’re capable of until their hand is forced, and even then, where does good end, and evil begin?
