I could barely put it down. The ending got my jaw dropped

This book has been a constant realm of confusion where you lose track of time and forget which one of the two boys you’ve been trusting. As the book gets towards the end, you see how Margie was never on your radar and that’s how the author communicates that she’s the best. The most underrated plot twist according to me is the way how at one point we all were CONVINCED that Shane and Tim are BOTH the murderers and that they did it all together!

Scene: Described well, I enjoyed the setting and it was well worded but not too over complicated. A handful of places put simply, so we can concentrate on the story and characters. Standard Freida. ****
Characters: Wow, complicated. It did the double switcheroo - Narcissism and mommy issues are such a big ick. ****
Story: You never know whats happening, its messy, complicated and twisty as hell. Love it. ****
Recommend?: Yes, Freida all day!
8/10 ⭐ Доволі проста історія, як завжди найтупіша жінка буде саме в романах Фріди, але мені не завадило насолодитись легкою історією. Я задоволений
There are three rules Brooke Sullivan must follow as a new nurse practitioner at a men's maximum-security prison- 1. Treat all prisoners with respect. 2. Never reveal any personal information. 3. Never EVER become too friendly with the inmates. But none of the staff at the prison knows Brooke has already broken the rules. Nobody knows about her intimate connection to Shane Nelson, one of the penitentiary's most notorious and dangerous inmates. And they certainly don't know that Brooke's testimony was what put him there. But Shane knows. And he will never forget.
This was actually blast and one of the best books I read from Frieda. As usual with her books, don´t trust the first information she serves you and doubt pretty much everything you read in there. The ending was so good and the epilogue? <spoiler> I love that it was from Joshes POV and it was cherry on the top.</spoiler>
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)At first, "The Inmate" posed a bit of a challenge to pull me in, but once it hooked me, I couldn't put it down. McFadden skillfully navigates twists that left my jaw dropping, showcasing her prowess in crafting suspenseful narratives. The unpredictability of the plot is a strong suit, making this another compelling addition to Freida's repertoire. A solid 4 out of 5 stars for keeping me on the edge of my seat!
My first Freida books. I was a little underwhelmed for how popular she is. I think I would have maybe liked it a bit more if I had gone in expecting a more average story. While it wasn't bad, I didn't much like the big reveal. Also, some statements were huge jumps or inaccurate. I think I would have liked it a little more on audio where it could be a slightly more passive read.
I loved the plot twist & i hated how they did that girl, made her think she was crazy.
OH. MY. GOD. OMGOMGOMG This book had be so confused, i suspected everybody except Margie n Josh at some point. Damn boy, utter perfection is the only way to describe this book.
So I read this book outside of my friends recommendation and she kinda told me she didn't even really remember it and that I should've read another book instead so I started with low expectations but actually it turned out to be a really good book. I've already gotten used to Freidas writing style and I usually like to try and guess where the plot twists will be but this one still managed to surprise me a few times with things I just didn't pickup on. Ended up being quite an enjoyable book!Again great characters, setting, pace, and plot.
