Honestly, I was super stoked to dive into this book, but it's safe to say I didn't quite join the fan club that's raving about it. For most of the book, I felt like I was stuck in a maze with no exit – like 85% of it just didn't click for me. And when the big twist finally rolled around, I was just over it and ready to move on. It didn't have the impact I was hoping for, and that's a bummer.

very disappointed in this book ngli knew going in that the mental illness representation was awful but i read it anyway cus i thought it would at least be a good thriller and it wasn't even thatfor some of the twists she kind of gave herself away like 20 pages before they were comingthe "reveals" were underwhelming ngl and one of the bits felt like when the villains in movies reveal their "master plans" and not in a good wayi honestly wanted the reveal to he creepieri liked the kind of we don't know who to trust energyi felt like she could have explained the reveals betteri think i need to take a break from freida books cus the reveals just aren't shocking anymorethe last twist in the epilogue didn't shock me and honestly didn't make sensethis one just didn't grip me or hit as hard as her other ones have
