When I Had You was my first book by S.L. Scott and I enjoyed every page of it. 🙂 Of course, I loved the racing aspect of the story but I also loved the love story between Cash and Marina. No matter how many times she tried to push him away, Cash kept finding ways to bring the two of them back together again including one scene in chapter 30 that was one of my favorite parts of the book. I won't say more than that so I don't spoil it for anyone who hasn't read the book yet but I thought it was really sweet what Cash did to bring them back together again after they broke up. Another thing I liked about the story was the age gap and the plot twist in chapter 26 was the perfect addition to the book. One of my other favorite parts besides the one I mentioned earlier is when Cash flew all the way from France where he was racing to surprise her. My favorite line from When I Had You is this one; “In the paddock, I got even madder when you took your helmet off.” I smirk, outlining her lips with my gaze. Fuck me, she’s hot. “Oh yeah? Why’s that?” She continues on my zipper, then stands up again. Leaning against me, she says, “I wasn’t expecting you to be so attractive.”I will definitely be applying to be an ARC reader for the next book in the series and will likely read the Westcott Brothers series when I get a chance. 🙂*I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
