Windows on Geographical Education

Geography is a contemporary, relevant and vital area of teaching and research. In his inaugural professorial lecture at the Institute of Education, University of London, Ashley Kent opens some windows onto his recent and ongoing research in geographical education. He describes the history of geography education at the Institute, identifying eras and themes. He then examines geography's appeal and image and traces developments in teacher education. In his final window, Professor Kent describes his research concerning the latest technologies used in geographical education.
