Voto 4.5Mi ha sempre affascinato questo romanzo, e poi finalmente ho avuto modo di iniziarlo. Dopo aver finito il primo volume della elements series della Cherry avevo proprio bisogno di un romanzo leggero e divertente per riprendermi. Quello che però non mi aspettavo era di ritrovarmi incollata al kindle e divorare le pagine una dietro l'altra in poche ore. All'inizio ho pensato che la protagonista fosse una "Stupida" a non chiedere chi fosse il mittente di quei misteriosi sms, anzichè dare per scontato che fosse la sorella, ma a quanto pare l'autrice ci ha saputo fare. E' stato bello e interessante vedere come la Casey ha sviluppato la storia, partendo dall'incontro al bar, per andare poi a stravolgere la routine di May, per finire a descrivere in modo delicato e non affrettato la presa di coscienza dei sentimenti che prova per il suo capo.

That balance makes the chemistry SO fun. Nobody’s calm. Everybody’s emotional. And every conversation feels two seconds away from turning into either an argument or a make-out session 😮💨 Also the family/friend dynamics?? Absolute chaos agents. Everybody’s in everyone’s business and somehow it just ADDS to the entertainment 😭 The books have that perfect rom-com suspense vibe too — enough danger and drama to keep things exciting without losing the fun, flirty energy.
