Description

This book takes a rearview look at the author's preteen years growing up in the cultural community of Trench Town, Kingston Jamaica. It gives a sneak peek into life during the 1960s and early 1970s. Your community comes with varied influences. Depending on the strength of both influencer and the young impressionable minds a generation is being shaped indirectly.
You take the lessons, filter them as you grow and face your own challenges.
Ganja smoking was for the Rastas, while children played in the street. Some houses had electric light while most people lived by the kerosene lamp. Still there was no distinction as everyone interacted as one community. Children were witnesses to the fights in the street, the cursing between adults and the dedication of musical artistes to their craft. Work was work as long as it was honest paid labour. Miss Malcolm pushed her peanut cart and she was supported by the young and old alike.
