I never mix business with pleasure—until now.
I’m expanding my business into new territories, and one of those territories is already claimed by my nemesis—The Skull King. Instead of rushing in with guns blazing, I decide to take a different route. He has a daughter that lives right here in Paris—and she’s the perfect pawn to win the match. I’ll capture her, put a knife to her throat, and her father will be forced to cave.
But the second our eyes lock, that plan goes straight in the trash. Beautiful. Sexy. Confident. And she’s got a mouth on her too—because she insults me straight to my face. I’ve never had a type, but this sassy woman has just become it. Instead of executing the plan that would give me exactly what I want, I ask her out instead.
Her rejection is ice-cold. “I know what kind of man you are. You’re a criminal—and I don’t do criminals.” Being the daughter of a kingpin has given her astounding insight to those around her—and a repulsion for the lifestyle. If it were a different woman, I would accept her decline—but I wouldn’t accept if from her. “I’m not asking to marry you, sweetheart. I just want to sleep with you—and you want to sleep with me.”
I just wanted a meaningless fling with the Skull King’s daughter—but I think I’m going to want a lot more.
