Like the sands of time, it shifts, it's mercurial, it's unpredictable. 

I grew up stern, detached, like a person looking through glass, observing.
But all that lesson had come to the fore, and nothing could ever prepare me for what the next chapter entailed for me. 

I could no longer be the observer... but the one being observed. He ceaselessly watched, clutching onto me like a disease, his poison gradually possessing me until I’m fully submerged, under his twisted spell. The dark side of love—his perverse love.

My heart ceased to exist.
My career was rising, my name was getting recognized.
I had the fame I fought so hard to get, the very thing I didn’t want to sacrifice when he issued an ultimatum.
I ran away from reality.
I didn’t want to face my past and the very man who triggered all the bad and all the good I once had. 
I’ve embraced my blackened soul.
I’m immersed in it with no hope of escaping.

Men clamored to have me while I waited for his beckoning…and he will come knocking.
He always does.
Time didn’t exist between us.
The thought of seeing him again left me breathless.
I was terrified he’d find out my secret…so I’ll keep on running until he finds me.
