⭐️ 2.5Usually, Freida McFadden writes slop. I can admit that. It's fast, digestible slop that, for the most part, is interesting enough to keep you reading and can be a decent-to-good time.This book, however, is not only slop but also strangely boring for a Freida McFadden book. Maybe I'm just experiencing Freida McFadden fatigue or burnout, but this ranks alongside 'The Teacher', 'The Crash', and 'The Housemaid Is Watching' as one of her worst books, no debate. It's that bad.The ending is fairly decent because it isn't too far-fetched or randomly constructed just for shock value. It actually makes sense. But is it worth slogging through the rest of the book to get there? No.
Scene: Described well, I enjoyed the setting and it was well worded but not too over complicated. A handful of places put simply, so we can concentrate on the story and characters. Standard Freida. ****
Characters: Standard Freida. Dont trust the narrator, everyone's unpredictable and nothing goes as expected ****
Story: Felt like I was loosing my mind at one point, but somehow I enjoyed that feeling? ****
Recommend?: Yes, not a beginner Freida but a good one.
