Sixteen years after the historic first contact with alien life and the set up of an interplanetary government, the Chief Executive, Admiral A.D. Beatty, is due for retirement. As he is preparing to end the night’s celebrations, a brutal and calculated assassination takes place. Detective William Clifford has to work with time against him to solve the case, and ensure the safety of the Admiral's successor as more murders and no real evidence hinder his progress. The planet of Tedar has now, almost reached the point in time when the catastrophic event which changes Grayell's life so completely will occur again. Will the future be different this time?
