Description
"LUKE BRISTER, mid-West sheriff, marooned on a Mississippi island, which is due to be submerged by the rising flood waters, in company with three men, one of whom the sheriff has reason to believe is Actor Hart, bank robber, murderer and escaped life-sentence prisoner -- but any one of the three might be Hart, and the sheriff has no means of proving who.
