! - For when full stops aren't enough and question marks aren't appropriate

“I have a friend who has had laser-eye surgery – in one eye!” Can you really write that line, without adding that exclamation mark at the end? A fully grown man who chose not to return to the eye clinic to have his second eye lasered because he found having his first eye done to be an “unpleasant experience”? A man who now has to drive with one eye closed and switch eyes to check his map, whilst hoping beyond hope that he doesn’t get those switches mixed up? Not to mention the bouts of dizziness and regular falling flat on his face?This is just one example that the exclamation mark is a necessary feature of humour being presented in the written form – and, for the most part, is not nearly used enough.In a nutshell, that is the purpose of this book.
