Guarding the Shadows is a fun and quick read at just a little over 100 pages. It's a rockstar romance that is interconnected with K.L. Shandwick's Pulsetones Rock Gods series but it is totally unique from most, if not all, of the other rockstar romances out there as it's told from Raff, the Screaming Shadows bodyguard's POV, which I really enjoyed. 🙂One of my favorite parts of the story was in chapter 16 when Beth asked him to help her with her dress. His reaction to her asking him was pretty funny. A couple more of my favorite parts were when she started playing “Dirty Little Secret” by The All-American Rejects as a way of flirting with Raff and then when he sent her “Dare You to Move” by Switchfoot in response. These were a few of my favorite quotes/lines from "Guarding the Shadows" "All day I was torn about the tour finishing and not seeing him every day, but I knew it had to end. It was time to get back to building my own career, and I prayed that once I was busy, I’d forget the stupid, girlish crush I had on one of Screaming Shadows’ bodyguards." {Chapter 7}"I had a mind then and there to tell her my impure thoughts, and maybe if Benny hadn’t been in earshot, I might well have said that I liked what I saw." {Chapter 17}"It usually only took around ten minutes to do a sound check to ensure my instruments were tuned up before a gig.
