Joyce and Raoul became lovers during their stay on the East African coast. The end of the contract has meant that they have to return to their respective countries but Raoul has invited Joyce to stay with him in France. She has a few administrative hurdles to overcome but they are nothing compared with the fact that Raoul is commitment-shy and won't admit that he is in love with her - if he is, that is.
