A horror novel set in Africa linking the Broadwater Farm Riots of 1985 to the atrocities of the brutal suppression of Mau Mau insurgents in Kenya in 1953. Sgt Harry Cross of the Metropolitan Police force is assigned to assist the East African security forces in putting down the native insurgency. He finds himself drawn into an abyss of evil and savage cruelty that changes him forever. Thirty years later his son, Paul, a police constable in the Met, is traumatised by the horrors of the riots on the Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham which led to Sgt Kevin Blakeley being hacked to death by an enraged mob.He feels accursed. He goes out to Kenya to solve the mystery of his father's death and to escape the monstrous creatures haunting him. With his girl-friend Kat he encounters a conspiracy of evil which stretches back thirty years and still reaches into the corridors of power where Africa's fate is settled.
