Khathaka Vadham, the translation of Slayer Slain (Fr.Richard Collins), written by Mary Collins (Mrs. Richard Collins)in the year 1859 (Published in 1864),is now regarded as the first Indian English Novel. The novel problamatizes the inherent caste hierarchy existed among the converted Christians of the 19th century.
